Eastern Spinebill Baby

There are four of them hiding in the same plant their mother hides them in every year. At the moment they stay well inside the bush, no idea how much of it is instinct, or if the parent teach them? It also takes a few days for the young birds to get a sense of what fear is, so to stay covered by leaves for that time is a good move.

Is this the same juvenile as before? Lovely photos as usual.

Hi Curtis, they live and breed in my garden. At the moment I also have New Holland , Wren, Firetail, White-browed and Thornbill Babies. They are hard to take photos off, because the parents hide them deep inside dark bushes, and by the time they come out, they will be fast and flightycrying

(o yes, my garden is in Gembrook , east of Melbourne)
