Meet our baby rosella

I finally spotted one of our baby eastern rosellas 2 days ago. It has a pinkish beak

This morning it was peeping out

Later this afternoon it was bolder/stronger. It looks like it could fly tomorrow

A noisy miner landed on our patio. Look at its tongue!

These little corellas were preening each other in our tree

How many baby Rosellas are there? That is so beautiful, I would sit and watch all day. You had some before, didn't you? When they come out, how well can they fly? Will they sit in the trees, or on the ground?
The photo of the Noisy is great,I love the eye and the tongue. And I wonder what the "little birds in love" are talking about, just wonderful. M-L

Not sure how many babies there are and I don't want my husband to fall out of the tree looking! We don't go up when they are advanced in case they take fright and fly off without their parents. The most we saw was 6. When they fly they leave very quickly, like a rocket and are out of sight in seconds. The father sometimes brings them back to our pink surprise grevillea, which has seed at teh right time. I think that one flew as I haven't seen it for a couple of days.
The galahs used to procrastinate and we'd often spend days waiting for them to fly, with teh parents calling adn them nearly but not quite going. One book said they can fly 2 km on their first flight
