Two birds to ID please

Both were in our garden recently.

This little one that was on our birdbath on the weekend, I'd not seen before.  This was the only shot I could get, sorry, so couldn't get its back and it flew off very quickly so didn't really get a chance to get a good look at it.  Doesn't matter if anyone doesn't know but I thought I'd ask.

And this one I know I've seen before but can't remember what it is. It's the first time I've gotten so close to it (it's not cropped) and I was delighted to get a few shots before it took off.

The second is a Bassian Thrush.

Cheers Beef.

No2 is one of my favourite birds, a Bassian Thrush, like Beef said. I have a few in my garden, saw one just a minute agoheart

No1 is a Thornbill, either a Brown, or a Striated one? If you would have seen the eye, it would be easier to ID, the Striated Thornbill has a brown eye, but the Brown Thornbill has a red eye. Knowing where you live, like me, we should have both.

Nice photos Kathie.

1 is definitely a Striated Thornbill

Great pics, and great birds to have in your yard.
@Owen - if you read this, I've posted a few things under Best Photos that involve raptor ID. Would love your 2 bobs worth if you get a chance :)
Cheers, Scott
