Blue Faced Honey Eater

The eucalyptus in our garden are in flower. This beautiful specimen was about 30 foot up. The clouds cleared just at the right moment to catch the blue and green in light. Midday light but still fairly gorgeous colours eh!

Great photos - we have them here quite often drinking out of the banana flowers and they are indeed beautiful. (SE Qld)

You've captured them in great light - such pretty birds.

Ours are a bit camera shy at present, could be because our banana stand got trashed a bit by high winds a few weeks ago.

This is the first time I've seen them feeding standing up, usually ours are upside down, swinging on the end of the flower stalk at the bottom of the banana bunches cheeky

Most of my photos were indeed upside down, but mostly not in the light and covered by lots of flowers. It wasn't easy getting them in the clear as you can see by the branches out of focus
