Nice bird that lives in Palmerston, nice photo of the bird that lives in Palmerston.
Hi Alan, because I don’t live near Palmerston, or in your neck of the woods, not many people do,not sure what bird it is? There are many birds you take photos of, that I have never seen down here in Melbourne. I also would assume, there are many members on this forum, that haven’t seen those birds that live up near Darwin either. I had no idea, so I got my books out to find the bird. Yes, I did, I now know it is a: “Red-headed Honeyeater”, and I now understand the joke about the Red Head. I don’t want to sound offensive, or upset you, but in future, could you please mention the proper name of the bird?
I have many books to try to ID birds, but you live with them and could tell me their names. Thanks Alan
I have a side view of the Red-headed Myzomela aso taken at Palmerston, NT (this shows the red rump)
Actually that is my subtle way of saying that I am on leave and have spent 1 week in Samoa, 1 week in WA, this week in NT and next week I will drive around a bit of Qld. I will post best of pics when I have sorted the many pics taken
wow , note to self , start planning next trip north
Neil
