I think that this is a juvenile Rufous Whistler from Olympic Park in Sydney last month but would like comnfirmation please. The fluffed up feathers on the head are a bit confusing but it sang beautfully. sue

Female rufous whistler just out of the shower.
I find that the striations on both female and juv. Rufous Whistlers can vary. Juvenile RW has bolder streaks and two-toned bill... but I've never seen that buffy yellow on the belly. I doubt a Golden Whistler, or any other whistler... I'm not sure but I would call it a Rufous Whistler, just to be safe.

Have checked and all pictures have the same buff colour underneath but found a poor shot showing the back. Perhaps it will confirm Rufous Whistler. sue
Definite Rufous Whistler, & as Brandon said the pale bill base is indicative of a young one, so I think not necessarily a female, possibly a young male?

Steve, I've always thought that young male rufous whistlers are significantly less heavily streaked on the front than females & young females. The yellow at the base of the bill probably makes it a young female in my opinion.
