things are happening

Suddenly things are happening in my shrubs. More flowers, and the birds are fighting over them. In the one shrub, there were Eastern Spinebills and New Hollands, also the first Crescent Honeyeaters and two Lewin’s Honeyeaters.

Not easy to get photos, because the foliage of the shrub is rather dense, so there is always something in the way of a clear shot. Then I witnessed something I hadn’t seen before. As they would, the Spinebills and the New Hollands chased the Lewin’s ,so it fell to the ground. Before it could get up, a Grey Shrike-Thrush and a Blackbird , came out of nowhere and attacked the Lewin’s. It was as if they were just taking advantage of the vulnerable situation the Honeyeater was in? I didn’t think those birds would have issues?

So, enough talk, here are some photos I took today.
