On the way to Queensland in January this year, I visited this lagoon in the New England town of Guyra. To cut a long story short, I managed to identify all the bids I saw with the help of my guide except one, which I have absolutely no idea about, despite having gone through my guide about a half dozen times trying to find it. So I thought I might post it here an see if anyone knew what it was. My only real guess was a Little Grassbird, but it doesn't have the eyebrow. So any suggestions would be really welcome! I'm not confident, I think White-winged Triller, a young brd?. Definitely not Little Grassbird.
Ok, thanks for the correction. My one question with a White winged Triller would be that the photo isn't really brown enough, but Pizzey and Knight do seem (to me) to make the pictures browner than they are.
Yes, young White-winged Triller looks like it... From what I just read (a juvenile bird is not illustrated in either of my books so I did some light reading), juveniles are scalloped with markings on the breast, head and back... just like yours!
