Just a few minutes ago, I went outside to look for Frankie and Janet. They always turn up when the horse gets fed. (The old boy spills some of it) Both of them and the Rosella they have adopted and always comes with them, eat some of the seeds on the ground. Then they come to talk to me. A good time to check on Frankie.
Today he didn’t come down from the trees, he sat very high up and Janet kept looking for him, trying to make him come down. The Rosella was also there. I got the camera to zoom in on Frankie, he must have been in some pain, he kept turning his head towards his back quickly as if something was biting him. (hope it’s not infected?) I called , but he wouldn’t come down. Now I worry even more, if he doesn’t come down, or is scared of me now, I can’t help him.
Here are some photos of Janet looking into the tree where Frankie sits.Taken a few minutes ago.
Hope he will be OK.
I looked at every King Parrot flying past, haven't seen either Janet, nor Frankie. Went to a shop today and bought a net, like children take to the beach. Should he come back, I will catch him again and have him checked out. But then again he might be fine, he never came regularly, as I don't feed any birds. He hasn't been around the horse feeder either. I will let you all know if he turns up.
Here is a photo of Frankie , taken earlier.

My daughter, the vet nurse , just told me there is a birds only clinic in Melbourne. Not all that far from me. Should I catch Frankie I will take him there. http://www.melbournebirdvet.com/about-us.aspxre.

Some great photos M-L - I love the feather textures. We're not fortunate enough to get these beauties visiting.
