Hi everyone - Finally managed to get photos of one very elusive bird that I've seen many, many times but only from a distance. Victoria Point Qld Usually tail feathers zipping into cover. (I'm not sure why this forum isn't allowing me to go down another line as I type?) Weird! Anyway, this bird is probably one of the reasons I took up taking photos of birds - just to work out what type of bird it actually is! :) So here's a few photos I took this morning. I quite often see it around with the Purple Swamp Hens. Bird Finder tells me it is a Buff-banded Rail. Enjoy! Chris.
Nice ones, Chris. I have at least one at my wetlands at the moment but always hiding and can't get a shot.
Are you using Internet Explorer? for some reason the return key does not work with it.

Thanks guys. Have a great night! Chris.
Nice work with catching them. I saw a family of them once in the mangroves at west end (complete with a couple of black fluffy kids). But they're shy as all get out. :P
