This little girl follows me around every time I go outside. She frightens me sometimes, just sitting on a fence post when I least expect her to be there.

At the moment Yellow Robins are everywhere, I have to make sure not to step on themcheeky

I had to take some photos, she wasn't giving up, so I gave inwink

(and , yes shoop, I can tell the difference between a boy and a girl Yellow Robin. This one is a girl, she is much duller and less yellow than the boys.)

Have you noticed that she has a bit of blood around her beak in the second photo? She kept diving down, grab a worm and come back up to sit on the fence post. Then followed me all the way back to the house and sat on the tree.

(the photos aren't cropped, yes, I was that close)

Shes only little, looks quite a young un.  I noticed they follow along through the bush tracks. I reasoned we must scare the bugs so they can see them fly off or move away. I found a well attended Robins nest on Sunday. I watched from a distance for a while and then went about my business hunting the other birds (no guns/weapons involved) making sure I wasn't getting too close. Daddy robin was staying around the same area as me, hunting bugs.

You could be right Richard? She might be one of last year's young. There were a few chicks, and don't they look cute? Just like perfectly round , brown bouncing balls. Have you seen some before?

Can't wait to see some in my garden, still too earlycrying

I have seen quite a few of yellow robins before but they all looked larger and more mature than this liitle darling. I might have to go back to visit the nest later in a month or so to see if there are some little'uns poking their heads up. She is a lovely liitle thing though.

Peter, your jokes brighten up my "dull girl days"wink

Richard, the girl might just look small because you can't see her legscrying

I don't remember how long the chicks will stay in the nest for? But here is one of  last year's brood in my garden. This is what they will look like. Just gorgeous, aren't they?

(This is the little one I was a bit worried about, because it had a growth on the beak.)

Great pics, M-L. It's funny that in the bird world the males are more colourful but with humans the girls can spend hours making themselves look more colourfulcheeky

I guess we don't have to sit in trees either when we are looking after babieswink

I watched some girl wrens fighting today, it was about who would get the boy.

I have always thought, girls dress up to outdo the other girlswink, to have a better chance to get the boy.(to get rid of the competition)

In the end in our world just like in the bird world, the girls chose.

Have a think about it. Girls just make the boys think they have choices, clever girls make them believe they dodevil
