Not a wonderful photo of these Stilts but Hutt Lagoon at Port Gregory WA is truly pink due to the algal bloom. Beta Carotene is even harvested from the area.
This is a lake under the Westgate Bridge (Melbourne), there were no birds on it though. Interesting that over where you are, they have managed to harvest the carotene. We talked to the ranger of Parks Vic, and he told us it was very difficult and too expensive to do.
Thats so interesting! I have only ever seen one of these and it is in the same dam every time we drive past!

I love the way their shadows are being reflect in the water with a lovely shading of pink color. I would like to see them in real.
