Are these birds same breed?

Hi, I took this shot in Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. These two birds were used by a photographer nearby to use as 'props' for tourist photos. They just obiendiently stood on the bench like a statue. I have few questions. (1) Are the larger bird and the smaller one the same breed? (2) Are they both Rainbow Lorikeet? (3) Why couldn't they fly away or walk away? Are they so well-trained to be so tameful? Please forgive my ignorance if these questions make you laugh. Thank you.

Hi Fongling,

The large bird is a Green- winged Macaw. I'm not sure what the smaller bird is but neither of them are from Australia. I think that they are probably captive birdssad I'll do a bit of reading and try to find out what the small birds issmiley

Thanks Elsie, I took several photos of birds in the Bird Park, but somehow I feel that the birds in captivation, especially those ones in the cage, are not happy.

The larger bird is a Green-winged Macaw and the right bird is a Sun Conure, both are native to South and Central America.

Green-winged Macaws normally have a white upper bill, not black. I think this one is likely a captive bred hybrid.
