After two days of mating, his little legs gave in. I almost felt sorry for him.
He was walking across the grass and had to sit down quite often. Still being chased by his girls, he flew into a tree to get some rest.
His little legs gave way as you can see.
Do you all feel sorry for him?
a new defition of 'legless'
Peter
Poor thing Is this your one spot male?
What a beautiful bird Lovely shots M-L!
Perhaps just a tiny bit sorry for him The complicated love life of a SFW hey...promiscuous/polygamous, exhaust themselves, the girls too , while he's out the back door visiting, his wife is probably out the front with the neighbour doing the same. Then the offspring the males end up helping to rear, quite often aren't even their own anyway! They're certainly unique & intriguing little birds aren't they? They're gorgeous, I adore them too
West Coast Tasmania
Yes Peter, he tucked one leg under and stumbled until he had to sit down. (my husband said, that would be the way he'd like to go. ) I'm not sure what I'm supposed to think about his dreams now?
Elsie, this is the "one spot male"
Ruby, I thought of him just the way you do. But boy do I know better now. It's the girls that follow him behind the shed, it looks a lot like rape to me. (all done by the girls forcing themselves on him. Another human male dream??)
I watch them all day long, and get to find out more and more about them

I've heard a saying about walking funny the next day... guess that must be for birds as well.
I will have to watch the way my husband walks
(we will get told off any minute now, haha)
