It was interesting to watch this Osprey feeding on the fish at Geraldton because it dragged out the intestine and discarded it. Thereafter it seems to have enjoyed the meal before taking the remains off to its mate to share. Sue

Delicious, and the bird is too Spectacular shots Sue! Silly question I suppose, but did you notice any other birds around, or after, who ate the offal? Always wondered if, like carrion that attracts Ravens etc etc, there a bird buddy lurking who comes along to clean up the leftovers?

No, I did not see another bird take the offal. We had watched the osprey capture the fish and take it to the post for its fill before moving on to the nest on a nearby pole where its mate was sitting. Osprey seem to be very effective at fishing as we only saw one miss with all those we observed over the 3 month trip.
