I have been out and about a couple of times in the last week and caught a few birds about.
Firstly at Daisy Hill last Saturday and this afternoon at Metroplex Wetlands at Murarrie.
Most interesting for me was the Freckled Duck which is a new one for me, I think. I also saw a pair of Sacred Kingfishers with a couple of possible nests nearby, though one looked more Kookaburra size.
The Willie Wagtail was resting after harassing a dog and it's owner.
What a great range to see in only a few spots timmo! I think Willies are such little pocket rocket characters, very entertaining to watch - unless you're on the receiving end . That Egret looks very focussed on lunch or something? Great shots, thanks for sharing your week!

I like the variety of birds you saw last week.
I love Willies, but have to say, I heard people say it on this forum a few times lately, "the birds were harassing the dog and the owner". I would say, the dog and the owner were harassing the bird first. The bird most likely had a nest somewhere and was trying to get the dog away from it.
I love the Eastern Whipbird, they are so difficult to get photos of. Thanks Tim

Nice Whipbird photo. I was at Daisy Hill this afternoon and could hear them, but had no luck tracking them down. (I was heading in the right direction until I discovered my battery ran flat and had to go back to my car to get another)
Egrets get themselves in some odd-looking positions when they're fishing for food.
I know the problem, windshear. I was out at Oxley Ck yesterday and my battery went flat halfway round.
It meant I couldn't take pics of the gorgeous fluffy baby wrens, though they were kind of hidden in the grass anyway.
Cheers
Tim
