Grey Shrike-thrush?

This was taken at Lawn Hill Gorge north west of Mt Isa. The only thing I think it looks like in my bird book is a Grey Shrike-thrush but it doesn't seem quite the right colouring. What do you think?

You're right, it's a GST.

Thank you Nathan.

There is a possibility of it being a Sandstone ST... is there sandstone cliffs nearby? Looks too rufous for Grey ST. Also that massive, heavy bill definitely does not belong to Grey ST as well as the overall body shape.

I would ID it as Little Shrike-thrush, pic from Woodgate, Qld on 29/11/11

Yes Brandon!

In my book it does not show Lawn Hill Gorge in the Sandstone's area but after doing more reading it definitely is in the area. So I think you might be right. Sandstone cliffs line the gorge.

Thanks.

I have not seen a S ST but have seen plenty of Little ST. I referred to Pizzey 9th edition and excluded Sandstone ST as Pizzey says 'Rock-dwelling, long, slender ST; bill black; head greyish, merging into olive-brown upperparts; lores/throat pale buff; underparts rich olive-buff.' Which indicators are you seeing? It is a bit out of range for both S ST and L ST. Another L ST pic for comparison, this from Sheep Station Creek Conservtion Park, Caboolture in 7/13
