I got lucky with this one. The bird flew right near me rather than the other way. This never happens. First one Lime Kiln Bay, Oatley, Sydney; last of Royal National Park; others at Eastlakes Golf Course.

Love the little Red-Browed Finches. :)
No idea why, but Flickr hates me. I couldn't see the Kingfisher photo. All the other ones loaded though.
Don't take it personally, Windshear; Flickr seems to hate me too.
Sorry about that. Not sure what happened, but I re-entered the code and now it works.
Great selection , Michael.
I don't bother with image hosting sites anymore , just upload straight from my PC. Much easier no codes to worry about.

Great shots, Michael. I never have a problem with Flickr?

I can generally see photos posted from Flickr, but if I try to go to the website, or open photos directly on flickr it just sits there loading until it times out. Doesn't work from any computers at my house. *shrug* Hasn't worked for a long long time.
Just clicked on Shorty's link, no problems for me.

Beautiful! You've captured those colours & sheen in the Kingfishers feathers wonderfully, and those RBF's!! I would so love to spy any one of these one day. Thanks for sharing!

on birdline they get good reports of birds at eastlakes, looks like a good day out.

really good photos Michael. l laughed when you wrote "this never happens.."
i have Sacred kingfishers nesting not 15m from my shack , and i reckon they can sense if i even dare to pick up the camera , and scarper. i also have flocks of Red browed finches here , and i can almost walk among them , but with camera in hand nary a bird to be seen for miles.
may l ask what you use to take your photos?
Barney.
Thank you! I have a canon 600d and the 55-250. I need to upgrade that lens....
I enjoy your photos ... thanks for posting. I like your kite shot, im surprised that branch is enough to support him.
