enjoying the sun

I had that sudden feeling where you heart drops to the ground when I stepped outside today and saw this Laughing Dove lying on the freshly cut grass . My first mental imagine was Lily ( my Jack Russell) had somehow got into the part of the garden we have fenced off from the dogs and attacked this poor bird and it was still barely alive.Seeing Lily on the right side of the fence where she is suppose to be, I then realised this bird is not hurt it is sun baking instead. The weather has started to become rather glorious here in Perth and this little one decided to soak it all up, then it perched itself on the feeder to preen those lovely soft coloured feathers and shake out all that unwanted feather dust.
