Went for a circuit of Swamp Park located centrally in my home town and found a few interesting things.
First up White necked Heron(Pacific) who in last year or so seem to have flocked to the South West trying to eat something . Had to cropped photo right up to see it was a trying to make a baby long neck turtle lunch. (For all turtle lovers out there, he was unsuccessful )
Next I spotted a nest which only 10 metres from path which I hoped hadnt been abandoned due to its promixty to the path. My fears were allayed on my next circuit when Mum was back on the roost
Finally Purple Swamphens (assorted sizes) decided to walk out on the path right in front of me.
Not bad for half hour walk
Good ones. That little fella is a bigfoot.
Looks like a great walk, Laza. I hope to get a crested Grebe next weekend, glad she came back to the nest.
