My favourite WA parrot RedCap

While the Western Rosella runs a close second (first pix) I just love Redcap parrot

For me while fairly common to find unlike the camera hogging Ringnecks they always seem very camera shy so its bonus to get one staying still for a few minutes

I can see why they're a favourite, so pretty!  Beautiful shots of a gorgeous bird laza.  Always nice when birds sometimes oblige & stay still for a bit isn't it laugh  Were these taken on your Cape Naturaliste trip too?

No Ruby they were taken over course of couple of days by Collie River in nature strip running alongside the suburb of Eaton

I think the fact they live in fairly urban area helped my case.

Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

Red Cap Parrots are usually quite secretive. They do like the seed pods on MISTY PINK GREVILLIA.

Several planted in our street, in Bentley. (suburb of Perth) Becoming reguar visitors. Sounds- like a cough, screetch whistle when alarmed to flee.
