I've been on holidays for a few weeks, so I've had plenty of time to wander around birding.
Paid a visit to a favourite wetlands the other day, since we'd had a bit of rain in the last couple of days. The White-Winged Trillers who had been building a nest seem to have disappeared, and their nest along with it. (couldn't see any sign of it anyway)
However, I did see some White-Breasted Woodswallow babies in a nest in the next tree over, and a Leaden Flycatcher attending his nest. Also spotted a couple of new birds - a Baillon's Crake, and a couple of Brown Quail.
I also saw a willie wagtail doing quite an interesting little dance routine. (hopping about on a branch flapping his wings up and down, while making hissing and chittering noises) I guess it was a courtship dance, as he was following another Willie around doing the dance. I wish I'd thought to video tape it.
Various other places other than the above -
Little Golden-Headed Cisticola with an attitude.
An Intermediate Egret in breeding plumage.
A Chestnut-Breasted Mannikin I seem to have terrified somehow.
Spotted my first Dollarbird.
Hope I didn't overdo it.
Fantastic captures mate, I love the Wille Wagtail dance routine
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

all great pics - the flycatchers nest is quite a construction. Beautiful picture of the cisticola.
Definitely not overdone, no such thing . What a sensational variety! Love them all, but particularly in love with your Wagtail series Windshear, fabulous shots!

Thanks guys.
It's been interesting to watch the comings and goings of the different species of birds over the few months I've been visiting this particular wetlands.
I'd never seen a willie wagtail doing that little dance before, and there are plenty who live near or visit my house, so that was definitely particularly interesting for me too.
Great variety and shots Looks like you are having a great holiday
