Wow, what a beautiful sight that must have been, just majestic. How many different species were hiding in that flock? Can I see a Little or Pied Cormorant in amongst them?
I just love the word "Humpty Doo", always wanted to go to places with names I like. Years ago, my daughter had a boy friend in Humpty Doo, she got a sticker for my car......
She always went on and on about the great birdlife up there. I'm jealous
I'll be spending a few days at Pine Creek next trip. Freind of mine goes up every year to visit her daughter in Katherine and allways reports back on sightings of Hooded's & on the one occasion Gouldian finches at Pine Creek . Got a fleeting glimpse of Hoodeds at Larrimah last year.

One pied heron, Glosy Ibis, Cattle Egret, Magpie goose in grass!
Fantastic - popular spot to congregate then Be brilliant to hear as well I imagine.
West Coast Tasmania
Bit greener then when I was there in September.

Still not wet enough. Fogg Dam did not fill last year. Hoping for more this year.
