I just love the word "Humpty Doo", always wanted to go to places with names I like. Years ago, my daughter had a boy friend in Humpty Doo, she got a sticker for my car......
She always went on and on about the great birdlife up there. I'm jealous
I'll be spending a few days at Pine Creek next trip. Freind of mine goes up every year to visit her daughter in Katherine and allways reports back on sightings of Hooded's & on the one occasion Gouldian finches at Pine Creek . Got a fleeting glimpse of Hoodeds at Larrimah last year.

One pied heron, Glosy Ibis, Cattle Egret, Magpie goose in grass!

it may be the best birding place in Australia.
Say heaps of Hodded Parrots, Bowerbirds, Babblers etc
