Nowra

I have been at a mates place in Nowra during my holidays. I didn't do a lot of photography as i was there for a birthday and New years party. They live on about one acre with mostly lawn but the borders are lined with trees and the front border is dense trees and bushes.

I did a quick walk around (about an hour and a half ) to see how many species of birds i could find.

Including the water birds flying over me i got 44.

They have a family of Bower Birds in the front section who are very friendly and will approach very close to the house.

Here's a few shots i took.

Beautiful Shorty!  Oh I'd love to "meet" a Bowerbird one day and see it's particular choice of treasures for it's Bower.  Did you get to see it's Bower?

I know the area well, but at this time of year it is too busy. Will go down when it gets quiet again as i have not seen a Beautiful Firetail before.

Are there still many Crimson Rosellas at Greenpatch? I can remember that it used to be crawling with them, but it's been ages since I've been there. From memory they were very used to humans and seemed to rely on handouts to survive.

I'd love to get a decent photo of a Crimson Rosella, they're on my hit list!smiley

But Rosellas are so elusive...
