Domestic violence is a terrible thing to witness. In the first image the boyfriend has his arm (wing) around the girl protecting her. It goes down hill quickly from there. Looks like one has taken a slice of Bill from the other in image #3. Hope no serious injuries sustained.
Great set of images & in cronological order too.
Cheers.
Very dramatic shots - especially number #4, makes me think of a very theatrical murder scene from shakespeare, the murderer throwing up his cloak to hide the dirty deed
That's funny, (or not?). I have seen the same with Ibis. The boy mated with one of the girls, bit her, hopped off, turned around and mounted the girl next to the first girl.
O, the bird society. I clearly remember what my husband said at the time, "most blokes dream about that kind of thing, but wouldn't dare talk about it"
(I wouldn't know anything about it, I never got bitten)

Funny how one imagines pelicans to be calm , peaceful birds. Great dramatic photos Shorty. like a wildlife documentary!
Barney.
Thanks all for your comments.
Dennis, i am a little confused about your comment about domestic violence??? they are photos of wild creatures? but i agree with your sentiment.
The one you think is the boyfriend is actually the intruder and is trying to use the female for protection and no injuries were given (maybe pride).
