Hawks Nest birds

Here are a few of a Rainbow Lorikeet and a male YTBC (the female was hiding in the leaves in the uncroped shots) from my Christmas break

Must have been a nice Christmas breaksmiley what happened to the boy's tail? It looks a bit ripped? Aren't Yellow-tailed beautiful? I just saw two sitting on my fence looking at the empty water troff. It was empty, someone had taken the plug outangry Have to get a new one tomorrow.

Nice photos Tim.

Lovely photos, especailly the last one of the Yellow Talied Cockatoo. He probably got too close to all of the angry bushes NSW is full of...

Did you go up to Myall Lakes or Wallingat on your break? The lower Hunter has a huuuuge amount of birdlife.

Thanks M-L, it was a nice Christmas break, but was only for the week around Christmas, so a bit short. Luckily I have another week off at the end of next week.

I have no idea what happened to his tail, but it does look a bit scruffy. I had a couple of chances to photograph them up much closer, but they had gone by the time I got the camera out.

I love the Yellow-Taileds, especially their slow, loping flight, - I don't see them often enough up here in Brissie.

Lachlan, we did get up to Mungo Brush one afternoon, but we were up there looking at plants in the rainforest near the campsite rather than looking at birds.

Cheers
