Have joined to be in contact with like minded bird lovers also to share some of my photographic attempts.
Have only been seriously watching and photographing for about 12 months but am finding it very addictive and so much fun 
Looks to be a very informative site with a good level of forum decorum.

Hi Rick and welcome. Sometimes there is "Spirited" discussion, with opposing points of view, but that just makes things more interesting. Amazing the variety of birds in our lucky country, and this is a great place to see photos of a lot of them. Look forward to seeing your work. Hope you are safe and away from the fires in SA.

Yep, some very hot weather coming over here in Vic too.Unfortunately I have some nasty fires very close (about 10km) from me.Hope the wind blows the other way.

Nothing wrong with "Spirited " discussions, all part and parcel of people with passionate views
Love your photos, I am a "focus/ sharpness" freak and just love the feeling of getting that crisp shot especially if it has taken some effort. Not to say that I don't love watching birds and there habits etc just for the beauty of it all but it is nice to be able to record the moment.

I am persevering and slowly getting better results or at least not making so many beginners mistakes ie wrong camera setup, not checking settings before shoots etc.

Although I live in the suburbs app 15kl South of Adelaide we are lucky to have a series of conservation and recreation parks close by in the foothills. This makes for a good variety of watching/photo opportunities.

Welcome to BIBBY we have already spoken but I thought would welcome you here as well we all get on pretty well on the site even during the "spirited descussions" how boring would it be if we all agreed all the time, most of us share the same adiction to some extent
And don't think only beginers forget to check the settings some pros have been known to do it on occasion "trust me"
