Fairies in the Garden

Been a while since I've posted some pics, I've been a bit ill lately, and haven't been doing much outside birding/travelling. But luckily I've had the very pleasant company of the birds in my garden. The fairy martins are still churning out babies - although the neighbours finally evicted their 20+ nests' occupants. Not sure how many kids they've have in the past few months, but it must be a lot.

The Superb Fairywrens seem to have formed an alliance with Gwumpy and Gwumpette the willy wagtails, as I often see them hanging out with each other hunting moths on my choko/passionfruit vines. laugh

The brown honeyeaters tried moving in, but got chased away by the wrens.

Anyway, enjoy some photos from the last little while.

Great pictures windshear - its good you have such charming visitors to your garden. Really like the one of the male and female wrens - look a bit like a couple that have had a tiff and aren't talking. The wrens seem to think everything is made for them to perch on... including hoses.

They are a little family - 2 adult males, 2 adult females and 2 kids. Their nest is in a tree on the road side of my fence. They think they own the place, rather than just visiting. :D

Beautiful pics, Windshear!

We have a few of them here in the garden too! They are quick little devils, so you were definitely in the right spot at the right time!

Take Care,
