This young one was looking for his parents, it kept calling and calling....suddenly one of them came back to feed the little one. Everything was fine again

Thanks for posting these pics - i never seen a little grebe chick, now i know what one looks like. The lake would have seemed a big lonely place when he was all by himself.

Shooting Birds with a Canon.
they are usually rather shy too.
so were these Richard, they were a long way away
in the middle of the lake. I haven't seen them come close to the shore before. I have yet to see them on land
. there are many people walking their dogs around the lake, so it's for the best not to come too close to any of them.
