Found at LaTrobe Wildlife reserve, Bundoora, VIC.
Common to the area are Brown Goshawk, Collared Sparrowhawk and Australian Hobby.
Seems to have relatively short wings and a long, straight tail. Distinctive dark streaks on underparts and barring on wings.
Gos/Sparrowhawk are notoriously difficult to separate, it's a juvenile. The tail could be straight but it looks to have lost a tail feather.
Seems to have backswept wings, I'm going sparrowhawk.
Yeah, they're a really nasty pair to ID...
The solid barring on the underbody and neck kinda looks like a Goshawk... But the wings look more like that of a Sparrowhawk.
Sorry, I can't help.
I'm not bothered to write my usual report comparing the two birds... 1st year Brown Goshawk
Brandon (aka ihewman)
Any chance ihewman, you could send me a link to your 'usual report' then? I'm here to learn and would really like to know how to ID these 2 birds in the future.
It is difficult, but here is a guide:

I would suggest first year immature Brown Goshawk.
Goshawk for me too :)
