Positive that I have got a Grey Falcon here. Seen in cotton farmland, inland NSW.

Undoubtedly. Very well done! I've seen GFs 3 times before, so I know them. You should go over to the birding website eremaea and put this excellent record on the Birdline NSW page. A lot of birders are desperate to see GFs. Lorne, Bundanoon, NSW.
Great to see it has survived the pesticides used in the cotton fields. So far.

Great find.
With regards to reporting on something like Birdline. I don't see anything wrong with that at all.
Just be vague with the location and even if one of the moderators ask, tell them little, as they are a bunch of twitchers and all their mates will be out there in a flash. It is, however, good for atlas records.
Report it on an atlas site, but not on a birding forum...

I really don't think we need all this secrecy re a Grey Falcon sighting. We're not talking Night Parrot here! People should be able to see Grey Falcons and we should tell people where they are. If it was seen on private property, then say that, so potential visitors to the area are respectful and don't jump fence etc to see it. Also, this is NSW, not somehere in England - we're not going to get a deluge of birders at the sight. So what if 10 people turn up and look and are respectful of the landowner's property? Lorne
I have already posted the sighting on Birdline a while ago
. I always describe the exact place where the bird was seen, but being on private property I only describe the location (eg. from the roadside) but also say that the observation was made on a property.

I'd hate to have a pack of twit(cher)s hanging over my back fence drooling to tick a bird. That's the most ridiculous thing in my opinion. I never understood the practice and find it laughable.
