Hi Everyone,
One of the many images I took of the Barking Owl near my house. I also have got to point it out to members of the public and they surprisingly took a great interest in the matter which is great as I've been able to educate them and potentially spark a love for birds and nature. I shall post a couple more of the owl soon

Wonderful photo BabyBirdWatcher - such a beautiful looking bird.
A lot of people will never have seen an owl (including me), so good on you for pointing it out to them.
Great capture babybirdwatcher ... I am very jealous as I have never seen one. It is amazing how people are interested when you point stuff out to them isn't it?

Hi Shoop, Birdie and Whistling Duck, thankyou all for your nice comments. This photo was taken at about 5:45 (if I remember correctly) with the sun just disapearring behind the hills. The reason I was able to take this was due to a speedlite lent to me by another Bird Photographer also taking shots of the owl. Speedlites are very helpful and are 10x better than built in camera flash.
Cheers Babybirdwatcher
Yes I would love to have a Speedlite..... maybe one day...at the end of a long list of wants I guess. Where do yo live Babybirdwatcher? and is it close to bush for you to find this near your home?

Seems to have become a bit of a zoo attraction this bird. I'm surprised it sticks around considering all the attention. He must have a great food source there or just loves being photographed....
Nice pic. Flash definitely makes all the difference in a scenario like that. :)
Awesome awesome shot BabyBirdwatcher! How lucky to have one so near to where you live, and such a handsome fella to boot. Brilliant stuff!
