Great photo, as Rick said nothing wrong with a crop. I have seen one before but no more than that.
Great photo, the crop isn't bad either but try to crop the photo so that the bird is off centre so maybe take a tiny bit of frame away from the left and add some back to the right to give some space for the bird to look into

Well done - always good to get a shot of a bird that has escaped the lens before!
Its a very deliberate crop there is a tree just out of frame on the right that I didn't want to deal with, and moveing the bird to left of the frame would also put the main branch in the middle of the crop which is what I wanted to avoid ,we all have differing ideas on what makes the perfect crop so thank you for your thoughts on this photo
