Hey guys
The honeyeater challenge did so well last week so this time lets go with the Parrots!
Guidelines:
- You can only post photos of birds whose common name ends in parrot - e.g. Red-rumped Parrot. Other parrot species (lorikeets, cockatoos etc) cannot be posted.
- Each species can only be posted once by any participant (and only one photo per participant for each species). If a species appears more than once then the subsequent post will be removed - e.g there can only be one photo posted of an Orange-bellied Parrot (gosh I would love an OBP shot too guys...).
- You take part multiple times but you must wait until 2 other people have posted before entering again. If you post within that frequency then your post will be removed.

Hi Holly, I have a photo of an Orange-bellied Parrot, but I took it a Healesville Sanctuary, where they have a breeding program. I won't post birds that I didn't see in the wild. Maybe as the last photo, if nobody else has got one?

Ok sometimes you cant always get close enough for a good photo and this is one of those but it was my one and only time I have seen one of these parrots and I had to take it while still seated in the car. Elegant Parrot.

Sorry I didn't see this yesterday guys so I could make a call earlier - and sorry ML - rules are just one photo per species. More than happy for you to post both in a thread in the best photo section.

Thanks Rick for encouraging me to get over it. There I go again. Rules are rules, and you'll know it if you step over the line.
In this case I find this very narrow minded, as both sexes look vastly different.

So the rules of the challenge were clear:
Narrow minded? to stick to the rules of a challenge? Doesn't seem to bother any one else but you Araminta .... The Male King Parrot looks different from a female but that is no reason to post the species twice ....
And looks like your OBP was posted a bit early too ..... but I am sure you already know that .
As the saying goes, there is one in every crowd ... but for the sake of the challenges which are for everyone's enjoyment I wish there wasn't . it is so unfair to every other member here.

I was well aware of the rules, but felt encouraged by the remark of another member , telling me to get over it. Shouldn't have listened to Rick. At my age I should know better........

Why get so worried about it? It's a great photo of a Orange Bellied Parrot, and the week's almost out without one anyway.
Lovely photos everyone! Looking forwards to next week's challenge; by the hint it should be a good one.
Back to the bird photos now. The rules are there for a reason, if they are not followed, the posts are removed.
If someone else posts another parrot then ML can repost her OBP.
What a fantastic assortment of beautiful Aussie Parrots everyone! Can't wait to see what pops up today to finish the challenge!
