That first photo is a classic with the bell miner peeking out from behind the tree. Other ones might be immature bird as it doesnt have the bright red behind the eye.
The first photo was the first decent shot I managed and that was after being there for about an hour. There was no shortage of birds but very difficult to see until they move.
I took plenty of birds above me in the trees but they were always too high up or buried in amongst branches. Probably after about an hour and a half I didn't have much in the way of good clear shots and found a really good sunlight spot and with the sun behind me thought to myself ,"Wouldn't it be good if one landed right here". And within a minute or two there was two of them cleary young birds just in the very spot I had hoped for. I was firing so fast the memory card was struggling to process the photographs quickly enough.
I couldn't believe how frustrating it was waiting for the memory card to catch up whilst a bird sits still on a branch with nothing else in the way about three or four metres in front of me! Great problem to have I suppose.
Telepathic suggestion Reflex? I'm sure I've tried that one many times wishing birds to appear, not always with as much luck as you've had though Beautiful series and really lovely to have a couple of different ages in there too, sweet young ones.
Well done tracking them down Reflex.
