I haven't been around much lately, mostly due to work and sickness, but I was out at Springbrook (Gold Coast Hinterlands) for a bit of a break, and I came across several of these birds feeding on the side of the road. By the time I pulled up and attempted to take a pic of them, they had usually scarpered.
So apologies in advance for the quality.
Was probably about the size of a peewee I guess.
Any thoughts?
Lets try Bassian Thrush or Lady Blackbird?
i agree with Beef for the bassian thrush.

Checks out. Was exhibiting definitely Bassian Thrush like behaviour according to my guide. Hehe. Thanks guys. :)
From the image I thought Blackbird (just because the beautiful Thrush patterning is hard to see), but since it's at Springbrook, I'd go with thrush for sure.
They're a rainforest-y bird - I've seen them up at Maleny and the Bunya Mts.
And I've never seen a blackbird in the general Brisbane area, though they may be more comon further inland.
Cheers

I can see thrush pattern on the back of ots head.
The patterning isn't quite as obvious in this as it was in others I took, which were blurrier still.
