A first capture of this species for me. They feed on the hover, not perching for long, so I was pleased to get this one.

Lovely photo. The Spinebill doesn't seem to mind that the lantana is an introduced pest. I wonder how many other native birds find sustenance in the lantana.
It's not so much the pernicious Lantana but the native vegetation which the Lantana replaces thereby depriving native birds of natural habitat.
I wondered if somebody would mention the lantana.
