No idea what these are. Help please?
Hi Roger, No2 looks like a Baby Sparrow. (Finch beak?), but I might be wrong
I think I need a good book with photos of juvenile birds, they look so different from the adults. Can't wait to see what other people come up with.

Not too much doubt about the second being a young sparrow but the first isn't at all familiar to me.
I think the first one is also a sparrow, but there's something wrong with it?

That's what I thought soakes, I couldn't find any bird with a beak like that, only the long-billed Corella, and that it isn't.
OK thanks all. I don't have any sparrows at my place, this was a few km's down the road. There were other sparrows in the area, so I guess that's what they are. Very confusing appearence!
