Cheers guys. I did some cropping on the Dollarbird to get a bit closer (even though the original was taken at full 50x zoom). But the Whistling Kites are the original.
I just got back from the same spot so i'll post those photos soon.
I like your mates KingBrown, seem like a solid bunch ! I'll second that great variety, just fantastic. Did you spot all these beauties in the one outing? Beautiful reflection in the Stilt shot too by the way.
My camera is just a bridge camera so I can't get the SLR quality of some of the other shots on this site... but I can try! I was trying to get a shot of the Stilt just as the end of its bill touched the water, and I did but there was a bit too much camera shake on that one to use it. To answer your question AnnieJ, yes they were all within a few hundred metres of each other. And there were a few more at that same spot that I couldnt get a photo of, including Jabiru, Little Egret (with breeding plumes), Caspian Tern, Grey Teal, Masked Lapwing and what I think was a non br Marsh Tern.
been there many years ago great spot for big crabs and fish, should say I also say big lizards
See it! Hear it!

Nice, the first shot is an absolute cracker but I like them all. Good variety too.
Cheers.
Great shots ... I really like your dollar bird, you got a good close shot and got all those colours in the feathers perfectly.

Lucky fellow living at the Ord? Great photos. l like the Dollarbird shot very much.
l could never photgraph birds there though , the urge to throw lures at Barra would be overwhelming :)
