Batemans Bay

Yesterday i woke to a foggy day so i picked up my camera and drove to the coast.

I have driven past the Botanical Gardens there many times so thought i would spend the day there.

The SF Wrens are tuning blue but look very scruffy.

Also i got at least 3 new birds for me including a Whip Bird.

His head is a bit blurry as i was in the rainforest area and was on ISO3200 with a shutter speed of 1/30sad

After leaving the BG i drove around for a couple of hours looking for birds but not much seen so time to drive home (about two hours).

Got home and first thing was to take my boots of as my foot with gout was very sore, then put camera gear in the lounge went to the dining room and turned on my pc then to the kitchen to put on the kettle then to my bedroom to change my pants.

I come back out to the kitchen and notice big red blotches all over the floor and straight away take of my sock and it is just soaked in blood, go to the bathroom and wash my foot to find the source.

It looks like i picked up a leech in the rainforest 4 hours ago, but there is good news this morning i woke up and my gout is gonesmiley Might have to collect some leeches for next time i get an attack of gout?

Anyway i better clean up my house, it looks like a crime scene.surprise

According to the internet, leeches are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative remedy for gout in Eastern Asia...

Maybe the leeches in Bateman's Bay are just particularly effective?

It could be the next big economic drawcard! You know, replace the mining boom!enlightened

I like the first picture of the wren, he sure does look a bit dishevelled. Did you just put it up to taunt Araminta? Everyone else's wrens are going (or have gone) blue except the ones in her garden!
