I'll second that Besty, although.... I've been bitten by a Boobook & stabbed with a talon by a Boobook and a Magpie. And although I don't have the bite pressure test of a Cocky to compare, I'm going to say the talon stabbings were more painful . I've now been shown the correct way to handle birds by a trained expert .
Beautiful shots. Love the intent look in that Wedgies eyes.
HI Ruby i think either one would take your finger off .. She was just leaving her nest ,its on the property i work on ,the eggs havnt hatched yet . I have found a clear view of it that i can get to without desterbing her so hopefully i might get some good shots over the next couple of months ,, ill have to get my sons 600mm lens though ...cheers
Some years ago we took some overseas visitors to Healesville Sanctuary. I stuck my finger through the mesh fence to say hello to a Cocky, it bit a large chunk of my finger. There was some blood , and boy did it hurt, but I wasn't going to let anyone know that I got bitten. For the rest of the day I kept my hand wrapped in a hanky in my pocket.
Amazing Wedge Tailed Eagle

Excellent shots, Besty. I would not want them to bite by finger either.
Looking forward to the young Wedgie shots.
