Backyard and pond birds

Hi everyone
I haven't done much bird photography for many months, but this morning I got some good birds in the backyard and was inspired to move on to the local ponds.

I put some seed and chopped apple out every so often. A family of rainbow lorikeets has been coming in - 2 babies

This is one of the babies - it has brown eyes instead of red eyes like the adults

We also got some eastern rosellas which looked at the nesting box (which has yet again been taken by Indian mynas)

A male and female figbird - my find of the day - I did not know they were in our area

Purple swamphen

I came home and saw one of the baby rainbow lorikeets eating Honey Gem grevilleas in the garden

A really nice set for sure the rosella is a ripper. well taken.

A Photo is only as good as the eyes that look at it.

A great bunch of shots Birdgirl. Wow I'd be happy just seeing the wren without the other beautifully coloured creatures!!!
Just love the eye in the first one!!

You are lucky that's for sure

Cheers

Birdie

PS Great to show the difference in eye colours with juv and adult too.
Thanks for sharing these

as usual great shots (and beautiful blue sky) birdgirl. The male fig bird is very colourful, something I hadn't realised until seeing your photo.my fave is the first one, amazing colours.
Thanks:)

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
