For the past 2weeks ive woken up to this bird calling in the bush. I worked out the call & what kind of dove it was, but couldnt see it in the flesh. THEN!! the other morn it started its usual call, but it was much closer this time. To my amazement it was calling from my garage & here it is. cheers daz

Problem solved! I had a look on the Bird Finder, there is no sound recording of the bird, other than coo coo coo, which doesn't mean much to me. I will have a look somehwere else.Well done, is the bird giving you dirty looks? His eye stares at you? M-L

Hi Daz, I just listened to a recording. It's very soft and has a lovely melody. (That wouldn't wake you up, it would make you fall asleep! HaHa!) M-L

Lots of these near Nepean Weir. Nice to have it in your backyard. I usually have moderate success whistling them in with me imitating their calls. :-)
Great find. I haven't seen these and lucky to have one outside your garage.
Cheers, Owen.
It's good when the birds come to you!
