Beak Worry?

This guy flew in last night and note the size of his beak. I thought they kept their beaks short in the wild by chewing on branches. He seemed to be feeding OK by using his tongue to pick up the seeds. I'm a bit worried about him.

HI Lyn
There is a feather and beak disease I have cockatoo on the verandah and I have to trim his beak we picked him up on the side of the road he could not fly and has no feathers now.

Smeedingo is right.
Your bird is not yet severely affected.
Google "Beak and Feather disease", but be warned, some images not pretty.
