I went to Wilson Reserve in Melbourne today to try and find an Azure Kingfisher that I saw on a bike ride but I couldn't find it. I was lucky enough to have a very tame Bell Miner fly down into a little tree and it actually spent some time out on the edge!

Great catch Owen nice and sharp and good light. Well done for your 1000th post, I didn't even realise it when I was at that number! I guess it is different now you younger ones would be used to counting maybe?
Sunshine Coast Queensland
Hi Owen, what a gorgeous bird and (to me) so elusive, I hear them often in the trees surrounding the house...but trying to spot them with binoculars..let alone take a pic...has proved impossible thus far. So thanks for sharing your find:)
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
Excellent shot. They always seem to stay right up high in the tree tops so you have done a great job to get this one
Nice photo. I love their call - here in SE QLD they are common on the Cunningham Highway near Cunninghams gap ..... almost deafening sometimes.
