This is the best bird of prey shot I have taken so far, I have Identified it as a whistling kite (please correct me if I am wrong!)
The shot was taken at Serendip sanctuary near the foot of the You Yangs in Victoria. I recommend any bird watcher in or visiting Victoria should try and head down to that area in spring. With the rains we have had through August I reckon it is going to be a bumper season for birds... Plenty of flowers for the nectar eaters, plenty of seed which will also feed rodents for Birds of prey... and plenty of run off into streams and catchments for the aquatics.... Can't Wait!!!!
Great shot. The markings on the underwing look like those of the whistling kite - they are very distinctive. Sounds like a great spot you've found
Well done Berldo.....nice shot.
