Hi eveyone
Yesterday I managed to pop into the Hunter Wetlands Centre for a little while, although not long enough to walk to where the birds of prey were, unfortunately.
Willie wagtail - can you see the bistles around the beak? I wonder if they help the bird to gather insects, like those on the tawny frogmouth

Gosh, a lot of cattle egret nests! Especially like the green near the eyes on the great/itermediate egret and the spoonbill with the breeding plumes, and as always the kingfisher is a lovely little bird. Nice set of shots, a wide variety of animals at the Wetlands, hpe you can get some pics of the BoP's as well!
wow Birdgirl, you did well for a short walk! are the dusky swamphens same as Purple swamphens? excellent shot of the Azure Kingfisher... I only seem to see them with twigs positioned in front of the shot! well done.
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
Nice series of shots there Birdgirl, I did not know that Magpie Geese venture that far down.
All great shots but I realy like the Kingfisher. Looks like he is enjoying the shade on a hot day.

Good day out Birdgirl
You just have to love any shot like the willy wagtail with his mouth open telling the world something.
Love the nesting CE
Cheers
