wow what great shots, especially the first ..the colours are amazing underneath the wing, something I've never seen 'live' or in photos before. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Thanks everyone for your comments. Steve, as these birds are nesting i don't really want to reveal where they are, all i'll say is that i live in Brisbane, sorry. The trick to seeing colour under their wings is to take photos when the sun is low, either early morning or late afternoon as in these shots
