Was very lucky to see this Brown Goshawk a few times in a grazier's paddock were I go camping. There was a nest near by were I heard a chick.
Hope this is of interest.

Nice, Darter. Roughly what locality is this?
'Woko' the location is near Blackbutt in S.E QLD, about two hours drive N.W of Brisbane.Saw the adult hawk a few times, and heard another, and did hear chick in nest, late November, and early/mid December. But been back a couple of times, but no sign
of them.I did get many images (most not the best) but a few good ones.I'll try and post some more.
Thanks darter. It may be coincidence but the brown goshawks I saw preparing to breed on my place in SA didn't. It would be interesting if other posters have observed failed breeding by brown goshawks.
I could hear a chick in the nest, but I never got to see it,the adult was hanging around most of the time, one morning I could hear the other adult, and see the other.
I'll check the dates on images to get time frame of how long the period of time may have been chick was in nest.I am concerned something might have happened to these hawks, either the chick died,or a lace monitor got it,or the adults might have meet an end.
Brown Goshawks, are rather secretive,I was hoping to get some longer observations. Not sure the chick would have grown so quick and decamped the area with adults.I have access to the property, and will monitor the nest in future seasons.
Thanks, darter. I believe brown goshawks re-use their old nests.
