I think this is a Brown Honeyeater... Lovely little birds that are great to have around with their song and their playful nature.

Sorry about posting so many, but I've trying to get this new lens sorted, and so I've been having more of a play than usual.
Holly if you want any of these for the site, just email me and I'll send you a large copy.
My favourite is number 1, although the whole series is very good. It's a species that has eluded my camera whenever I've been in its habitat. What kit are you using? Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
George

These were taken with a Canon EOS1DMkII with a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 and a 1.4x TC fitted. I make my living as a photographer, but I shoot birds for fun and relaxation. That's why I have no idea what they are most of the time.
If you're interested in one of those lenses for your camera, I'd recommend this outfit:
http://www.topbuy.com.au
I paid half the price asked by a large grey importer based on the Gold Coast, and $600 less than the next cheapest grey importer. The gear comes out of Hing Kong and GST is incuded in the price you pay. No problems with Customs, and delivered within 5 working days.
impressive series of shots. Your kit seems to be working very well.
Cheers, Owen.
Thanks Owen. My saucepans must be faulty though. (Sorry...a little photographers' joke there).

Thanks for the quick response. I have a Canon 100-400 for my 40D which I find satisfactory for birds. I tried to view your Flickr site without success.

Sorry about that. I'm only on FLICKR to post images to other sites. The images are marked as private, so they only display via the link.
don't be sorry about post so many. I don't have a camera and these are fantastic plz keep em coming.george.
Thanks George. I'll see what else I can find in yje garden to post. There are a pair of Diamond Doves, Of course there also the sparrows, some nutmeg Mannikins, some Double-Barred Finches, and the odd Willy Wagtail. I did see a Rufus Fantail once too. Of course they tend to be a bit camera-shy.
They're great shots. :)
Good photos. Are those ones with the blue background cleaned up in some way? They look a bit fake.
Sorry, but topbuy is an awful-looking site.

Which ones do you mean? The ones with all blue, or the ones with some blue? The ones with all blue are shot up against the sky and have been lightened because they were backlit.
The blue in the others is an ornamental windmill in the yard that painted with some left-over blue paint I had sitting around to stop it rusting.
There's no fake ones there. :)
Yep, the site is a bit poor, but the savings on Sigma gear are worth putting up with the poor website. Of course if you have money to waste, go right ahead. ;)
I meant numbers 3, 4 and 5. Especially number 3 looks a bit weird (it almost looks as though it's studio-lit), but your explanation makes sense.
I don't have money to waste but I'm sure there are other sites that have similar prices; I'll stick to those that don't offend my eyes... :-}
